A 45-year-old businessman died when his car fell into the Ghataprabha river in Benakanaholi village near Hukkeri in Belagavi district on Wednesday.

Kiran Lakshmana Navalagi was from Daddi village in Hukkeri taluk. He was running a beauty parlour.

Kiran Navalagi had taken the car out for a drive on Monday. Then, his relatives complained that he went missing. The body and the car were retrieved from the river on Wednesday. A case has been registered at the Hukkeri Police Station.
