A man and his mother were found dead in a tank near Hirisave in Channarayapatna taluk on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Bharath, 35, and his mother Jayanthi, 60, of Kabballi in Channarayapatna taluk.

Bharath was married to Geetha of Baguranahalli in Gandasi of Arasikere taluk eight months ago.

In recent months, Geetha had returned to her native place following differences with her husband. Upset over the development, Bharath and Jayanthi ended their lives after leaving a note at their house.

The neighbours found the main door of the house open, however, the duo was not inside. Upon searching, they found their slippers near the tank nearby. They informed the police and the fire and emergency services. The bodies were later retrieved from the waterbody.
