At the GN Chetty Road-Dr. Nair Road junction, there is currently one thing that is as striking as a giant exoplanet seen through the view finder of an advanced telescope — a massive CMWSSB work, one that is all over the place and cannot be missed.

It is a deep machine hole work, where the machine hole is being fashioned through casting.

The collapse of the existing sewage machine hole that necessitated this work is probably causing some challenges in terms of the delivery of swift sewage clearance services. But it certainly is making for great inconvenience on the road, at the junction to be precise, contributing to sluggish traffic movement during rush hour.

According to those with an ear down to the ground, the casting work is not too far from completion. At the time of this article going to press, the machine hole casting work was going on.

Machine holes can be built from the ground up right at the place they have to be situated or done outside through pre-casting if there is water flow at the site or any other factor exists that might prevent in-situ construction.
