Apollo Research Academy on Tuesday hosted a guest lecture by Peter Coveney at the Madras Club on ‘The Role of Digital Twins in Healthcare’ for senior healthcare consultants. Speaking at the event, he said digital twin technology was a tool that involved the creation of a detailed, real-time virtual replica of a physical object or a system. When applied to the medical field, it had a profound impact. The event was organised by Madhu Sasidhar, President & CEO of Apollo Hospitals Division, along with Prof. Ravi Mahajan, Director-Research & Innovation, Apollo Hospitals Group. Dr. Madhu said: “Digital twin technology addresses a critical gap in healthcare. It is the gateway to accessible precision medicine, and will completely change the essence of healthcare from a reactive system to a proactive, preventive one.”
