The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has launched nine new tour packages to various destinations in South India.

A one-day package to Krishnagiri dam and Hogenakkal falls, two-day packages to Tiruvannamalai-Girivalam and Yagachi-Chikkamagaluru, four-day packages to Kochi-Alleppey, Nandyala-Ahobhilam, and Tamil Nadu Navagraha temples, and five-day and six-day packages to Thekkady and Munnar, and a six-day package to Pandharpur-Shirdi-Ellora-Nasik-Kolhapur are the newly launched tours.

The tariff for these package tours ranges from ₹1,480 per person to ₹18,590 per person with small discounts for double or triple occupancy. There is also a senior citizen discount of 20% on all tour packages.

“We designed these packages based on demand. We have also offered discounts to encourage more people to travel, especially senior citizens,” said Srinath K.S., general manager (Transport), KSTDC.

The tours are in addition to others offered by KSTDC, including heritage holidays, women’s special tours, Ambaari double-decker packages, and customised tour packages.

Tirupati package resumes

While KSTDC’s package to Tirupati was paused between January 10 and 19 on account of Vaikunta Ekadashi festival, it was resumed on January 20.

Although the Special Darshan package has not been running since November 30, Dharma Darshana packages are in operation. The officials said there is great demand for it and many left for the pilgrimage centre from Bengaluru on January 20.
