Superintendent of Police of Chikkamagaluru Vikram Amathe on Sunday suspended Kalasa sub-inspector Nithyanand Gowda following a complaint against him by his wife. The PSI’s wife alleged that her husband harassed her and threatened her with murder.

Besides the wife’s complaint against the official, there were many other reasons related to his functioning as PSI for his suspension.

Nithyanand Gowda and Amitha from Udupi have been married for the last 11 years. In recent years, the couple had differences. She approached the Kalasa police on Saturday and filed a complaint against her husband and other members of his family. Later, the PSI also filed a complaint against his wife.
