Kakinada Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patil on Sunday announced that drones will be used to keep a check on the illegal rooster fights being held during the Sankranti festival.

The police already destroyed scores of rooster fight arenas across the district and more arenas have been traced in the Kakinada Rural Assembly constituency. 

“We have been striving to put a check on conduct of rooster fights. We are also preparing to deploy drones to raid the cockfight arenas,” the SP said in an official release. Meanwhile, the old offenders are being bound over by the local police across the district.
