The Kadapa police launched a drive against illegal counterfeiting of branded products on Sunday (October 05, 2025). The police raided a local forging outlet and seized a huge cache of fake products made in infringement of the Trademarks Act.

JSW Steel Coated, a subsidiary of the listed company ‘JSW Steel’, received a tip-off on the misuse of its trademarked ‘JSW Silver’ etching on its shutter products. The company hired a third party agency to investigate, which led to Kadapa-based SDS & Sons.

Faced with clear evidence of trademark infringement, Kadapa police and the company’s team raided the outlet, resulting in the seizure of eighteen shutter components illegally marked with ‘JSW Silver’ and the associated mould used for etching the same.

The Kadapa Taluk police filed the FIR No.323/2025 against SDS & Sons under sections 417, 420, 482, 483, 485 and 486 of IPC and Sections 102, 103, 104 and 107 of Trademarks Act.
