Several users of Microsoft 365 complained online on Sunday (March 2, 2025) of being unable to access the product. Particularly, users said that they were having issues with accessing their Outlook emails.

Microsoft acknowledged the issue and said that it was investigating the outage and confirmed that it was also impacting other Microsoft 365 services.

“We’re investigating an issue in which users may be unable to access Outlook features and services. Additional details can be found under MO1020913 in the admin center,“ Microsoft said in a post on X. “We’re reviewing available telemetry and customer provided logs to understand the impact. We’ve confirmed this issue is impacting various Microsoft 365 services,“ it added.

Subsequently, it also said that a “potential cause” for the outage has been identified. “We’ve identified a potential cause of impact and have reverted the suspected code to alleviate impact. We’re monitoring telemetry to confirm recovery,“ it said.

Nearly 37,000 users from the U.S. reported that Outlook was not working for them, according to data from Downdetector, a website to track outages.
