A five-month-old baby and grandmother were killed in a road accident near Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram on Monday. 

Police said, while K. Sathya (19), her mother M. Selvi (45) and her son S. Rudran, while travelling on a two wheeler from Paramakudi to Mudukulathur, was hit by a government bus near Thirushanmuganathapuram. 

All three were thrown away from the bike. While, the child died on the spot, two women were carried to Paramakudi government hospital for treatment. 

Selvi succumbed to injuries at the hospital. 

Emaneswaram police have registered a case regarding the accident. Investigation is underway.
