The Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, P.K. Sekarbabu, and Member of Parliament for Central Chennai Dayanidhi Maran, inaugurated an indoor badminton court in Thirunagar, Anna Nagar Zone (VIII), on Sunday (March 30). The facility was constructed at a cost of ₹50 lakh under the Central Chennai MP Local Area Development (MPLADS) Scheme.

Following the inauguration, a jet-rodding machine-fitted vehicle was introduced for the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board’s operations in the zone. A jet-rodding machine is used for high-pressure cleaning and clearing blockages in stormwater and sewer drains. The vehicle, procured at a cost of ₹30 lakh under the same development scheme, will be used for stormwater drain work in the area.
