The Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) organised an HR conclave on Future-Ready Workforce: Bridging Talent, Technology and Industry Expectations in Energy in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

IIPE Director Shalivahan highlighted how the institute has emerged as a key contributor to the country’s energy transition by not only producing graduates, but also building knowledge systems, extending policy support, and fostering innovation pipelines.

IIPE Board of Governance president P.K. Banik underscored India’s ambitious yet crucial target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. He stressed that students should be prepared to solve real-world challenges instead of focusing solely on examinations.

HPCL Visakh Refinery Director (HR) K.S. Shetty noted the rapid transformations reshaping the energy sector through AI, automation, and digital technologies. He urged students to develop adaptability, resilience, and agility to succeed in uncertain times across sectors.
Hyundai Motor’s Natwar Kadel observed that the future will belong to those who can learn, unlearn, and relearn faster than others.

The conclave also featured three panel discussions on Right Skills for Core Engineering, Shift to Clean Energy, and What’s Next in Data Science, Consulting and Analytics.

The sessions brought together HR professionals from AkzoNobel, Reliance, BPCL, Tata Steel Limited, Sekhmet Pharmaventure, Mecon Limited, HPCL, Volvo, Hero Future Energies, Technip Energies, Quantiphi, Philips, Google, Sigmoid Analytics, ICF, and Standard Chartered Bank.
