TTD priests performing ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Amaravati on Saturday.

The ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ performed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Venkatapalem in Amaravati on Saturday attracted huge crowds.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with his wife Bhuvaneswari, offered ‘pattu vastrams’ to the deities on behalf of the State government as part of a long-held tradition. They later had darshan along with Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, who arrived a short while later.
TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao and Joint Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary presented ‘teertha prasadams’and portraits of Lord Venkateswara Swamy and His consorts to the VVIPs.

This was the biggest event organised at the temple after it was opened for the devotees upon completion of its construction in the year 2022.
A host of people’s representatives and other dignitaries attended the programme, for which elaborate arrangements had been made. Tight security was provided by the police to prevent any untoward incident.
A total of 1,500 volunteers helped the devotees in having darshan of the Lord and His consorts and taking part in the ‘kalyanam’. They distributed Srivari laddu prasadam and other items to the devotees whose number swelled towards the evening.
An official press release said about 50,000 laddus, 40,000 packets each of ‘pulihora’, ‘ravva kesari’, curd rice and sweets were given to the devotees through the day.

The ‘kalyanam’ was performed on a large podium on which a replica of the Tirumala temple was set up and the whole area was richly decorated with four tonnes of flowers, including some exotic ones, and other paraphernalia, and it was shining under nearly 5,000 floodlights.

Eighteen LED screens were installed on the premises to enable the devotees to watch the ‘kalyanam’ of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy and His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.
The atmosphere was enriched with vocal concerts by Priya Sisters, Nithyasri Mahadevan and other acclaimed classical singers.
Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and other seers and spiritual gurus graced the event.
Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and TTD Trust Board members Suchitra Ella, Jyothula Nehru, Vemireddy Prasanthi, M. Santha Ram, Panabaka Lakshmi, Nannuri Narsi Reddy, Nannapaneni Sadasiva Rao, Tammisetti Devi Janaki, S. Naresh Kumar and G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy took part.
