A 42-year-old history sheeter was murdered in front of his wife by two persons on Sunday.

Police said Thondai Raj alias Raj was residing along with his family at Udayasuriya Nagar in ​​Vyasarpadi. He has more than 15 criminal cases against him, including a triple murder case. On Sunday around 4 p.m., he was walking along with his wife at Sathyamoorthy Nagar Main Road when two persons attacked him with knives. In the incident, Thondai Raj suffered several injuries in his face and was killed on the spot. The residents alerted the Vyasarpadi police, who arrived at the scene, and sent the body to the Government Stanley Hospital for postmortem. 

As per preliminary investigation, the murder was committed due to previous enmity, a police official said.
