Srujana – ’The Heritage Club’ of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, conducted a heritage exhibition in its premises on the occasion of World Heritage Day.
Among the oldest exhibits were two daggers, over 300 years old, inherited from ancestors. Also, on display was a 200-year-old torchlight, 100-year-old Vedic scriptures, manuscripts, trophies of great-grandparents, an old memorandum, brassware, glassware, a 200-year-old jewellery box, 150-year-old brassware. Other remarkable exhibits included a mobile medical kit, old pendulum clocks, miniature furniture, toolboxes, radios and tape recorders, cameras, newspapers, calculators, books as old as 150 years, mortars and pestles, an old movie shield, air guns and others.
Prof. V Ramesh, a renowned artist, inaugurated the exhibition. Mr. Ramesh, along with the school director Chitturi Vasu Prakash, interacted with the students, asking insightful questions and sharing their own knowledge. Mr. Ramesh advised the students to keep questioning and expressed delight to be part of the programme. Parents witnessed and appreciated the rich history and culture of India showcased in the exhibition.
