HDK urges Gadkari to develop Srirangapatna-Arsikere Road into national highway

The need for upgrading State Highway number 7 connecting Srirangapatna and Arsikere into a national highway has been highlighted during a meeting with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, and he has been convinced on the need for the road’s development, said Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy.

Acting on an appeal from K.R. Pet MLA H.T. Manjunath for upgrading the Srirangapatna and Arsikere Highway, Mr. Kumaraswamy met Mr. Gadkari and put forth the demand, listing out the reasons for upgrading the road and the benefits it would have in the region as the road connected major towns and cities.

Mr. Kumaraswamy urged Mr. Gadkari for upgrading Srirangapatna-K.R. Pet-Pandavapura-Channarayapatna and Arsikere State Highway into national highway considering the benefits it would have in the region.

The highway development can bring economic progress in the region and also develop tourism. It will also benefit agriculture and industrial development in the region.

Also, the highway upgradation will benefit to transport farmers’ produce and dairy products to places like Mysuru, Bengaluru, and Hassan. The accessibility to Srirangapatna will be improved, developing tourism in the area, he argued.

The MLA has thanked Mr. Kumaraswamy for taking up the issue with Mr. Gadkari and convincing him of the need for upgrading the highway. The upgrade will benefit the people of Mysuru, Mandya, and Hassan.
