Tamil Nadu Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Scale Industries and Tamil Nadu Urban Habitation Development Board T.M. Anbarasan on Wednesday said that State government would improve infrastructure and public necessities of naturally formed industrial clusters at a cost of ₹20 crore and ₹23.33 crore will be spent to set up co-working spaces in Guindy, Ambattur, Madurai and Ranipet. These will have the capacity to hold between 25 to 225 office spaces which will help entreprenuers during the Demands for Grants session in the State Assembly.

Making further announcements, Mr. Anbarasan said that the co-working spaces will provide technical facilities, restaurants, and conference halls. Further, he said that the government would strive to organise special camps in the regions where Scheduled Tribes are living, with an aim to provide them with loans to the tune of ₹100 crore to help them become entrepreneurs. He also said that a silver-based art works factory will be set up in Perambur at a cost of ₹5 crore.

He added that village-based handicrafts communities and small scale industries would be provided with an infrastructure to protect their raw material at a cost of ₹18.18 crore. A capital fund of ₹1.50 crore will also be set up to provide ₹20 lakh to members of Irular community who are below the age of 60 and are part of the Irular snake catchers co-sperative society upon their death due to accident or snake bites.

Two special sellers development events will be held for Adi Dravidars/Scheduled Tribes and a total of 6 such events will be held at a cost of Rs. 40 lakh in the current year to help oil, fuel, food processing, electrical and electronics and tannery-related industries.
