The Group-II Mains written examination was conducted smoothly at all the 175 centres in the State.

The exam, comprising two papers and conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) for recruitment to the posts under Group-II services, recorded an overall attendance of 92%.

Of the 92,250 candidates who qualified for the Mains Examination, 86,459 downloaded the hall tickets. Based on information collected by the APPSC from all the centres, 79,599 candidates appeared for the Paper-1 exam, held from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., and 79,451 candidates attended the Paper-2 exam, held from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Six districts, including Prakasam, Tirupati, SPSR Nellore, YSR Kadapa, Anantapur and Eluru, recorded an attendance percentage of 93%, while the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Guntur registered 91%. Kakinada and Kurnool districts recorded 92% and the lowest attendance percentage of 90 was seen in NTR district.

Candidates reached the exam centres by 9.30 a.m., before the closing time of 9.45 a.m., amid strong security arrangements at the centres. Restrictions were imposed within 100 metres of the centres and traffic was diverted to ensure that no candidate faced any inconvenience in reaching the centres.
