Nearly 25 sovereigns of gold ornaments were stolen from a house at Kumaranalloor near Karassery in Kozhikode district on Saturday night (February 22). The burglary took place while the family members were away attending a wedding function.

According to the complainant, the burglars gained entry by breaking through the roof tiles and stole the ornaments after unlocking a steel wardrobe.

Police sources said that an investigation was ongoing, based on the statements from the complainants, who expressed suspicion about certain relatives. One suspect was currently under close surveillance.

On Sunday (February 23), a dog squad and fingerprint experts inspected the crime scene. CCTV footage from various nearby locations was also collected as part of the probe.
