Gaush Alam, an IPS officer of 2017-batch, has assumed charge as the new Karimnagar Police Commissioner, in Karimnagar on Sunday. He was hitherto the Superintendent of Police of Adilabad district.

He succeeded Abhishek Mohanty, a 2011-batch IPS oficer, who has been relieved from the Telangana State cadre.

The new police commissioner received a guard of honour presented by the armed reserve police force at the police commissionerate office in Karimnagar on Sunday.

He said that the focus will be on maintaining law and order, improving road safety, citizen-centric policing services, making optimum use of technology in policing to prevent crimes and serve people better.
