A fire accident occurred in a pharma unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JNPC) under Parawada police station limits in Anakapalli district on Tuesday (January 21) morning. Fortunately, no causalities were reported in the incident.

As per a release from the Anakapalli district administration, the fire occurred in the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and it spread to plastic drums placed near it. Thick flames engulfed the surroundings of the plant.

Inspector of Parawada police station R Mallikarjuna Rao said that fire tenders from Ramky rushed in and doused off the fire within 20 minutes.

Anakapalli District Collector Vijaya Krishnan has ordered an inquiry into the accident.
