Fifteen Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur: Police

At least 15 Maoists were killed by the security forces on Wednesday (May 7, 2025) in an anti-Maoists operation being conducted along the Karegutta hills in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur, said police sources.

The said operation, Operation Sankalp, has been continuing since April 21 and till Tuesday, four alleged Maoists had been gunned down.

A police source said that the casualties on Wednesday could be around 15 to 18 so far and it might increase as and when search progresses.

“Today, good operational outcomes are expected in the ongoing *Operation Sankalp. All security forces are safe and fully committed to ensuring a safe and secure Bastar region,” said the source

With this, the total number of Maoists purportedly being killed in Chhattisgarh this year has crossed 150.
