Following the detection of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) in the State, the Health Department has started conducting fever detection camps for people arriving from Karnataka through Bargur Hills.
As people from Karnataka visit the State for various purposes, a screening camp is being conducted at the Varattupallam check post located at the foothills. A mobile team, comprising doctors from the Government Primary Health Centre in Anthiyur, is screening people for fever and other symptoms. Doctors said blood samples were collected from those having fever, and their details were being recorded.
