Endowments secretary inspects Brahmotsavam arrangements in Srisailam

Secretary to Government (Endowments) V. Vinay Chand on Thursday (February 20) inspected the arrangements for the ongoing Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams and also for the main events of Pagalankarana and Kalyanotsavam at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam.

Mr. Vinay Chand inspected the queue lines for ordinary, sheegra and ati sheegra darshans and asked the temple officials to make arrangements to meet the rush of devotees. He told the officials to monitor the queue lines regularly and prevent stampedes.

He instructed the officials to provide water, snacks, biscuits to the devotees in the queue lines. Similarly, the officials were asked to set up a first-aid centre and make arrangements for proper lighting in the queue lines. Mr. Vinay Chand asked officials to focus on sanitation and prevent garbage accumulation.

He wanted the toilets to be maintained neatly and with uninterrupted water supply. He asked the officials to set up information and notice boards at all the important places in the town.

Chief Festival Officer of the Endowments Department S.S. Chandrasekhar Azad and temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao were also present.

On the second day of Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams at Srisailam, the management of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, Dwaraka Tirumala, presented pattu vastrams to Lord Mallikarjuna. In the evening, the processional idols of Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bhramaramba were taken out on a celestial ride on ‘Brungi’ vahanam.

The processional idols were brought to the Akkamaha Devi alankara mandapam and were seated on the Brungi vahanam. Later, the idols were taken out on a procession on the streets of the Srisailam town as part of Gramotsavam.
