To ensure regulation of quarrying activities in Tenkasi district and to prevent unauthorised transportation of minerals, the system of online permit (e-permit) has been introduced.

District Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore said e-permit for bulk permits for minor minerals had been issued from the month of September 2024 in a first phase. The process of obtaining transport permit for taking all minerals had been made online since February 25.

Hence all the mining leaseholders in Tenkasi district must obtain e-permit for mineral transportation online. Accordingly, all the mining / quarry leaseholders in the district have to apply online for e-permit through www.mimas.tn.gov.in and get e-permit for transportation of minerals, Mr. Kishore added.
