A resident of Jagtial in Telangana has sought urgent help from the Telangana government to bring her stranded husband back from Saudi Arabia after his visa expired two years ago. Adding to her woes, her son is currently hospitalised in Jagtial with bone marrow disease.

The woman, Ganga Laxmi, in an emotional appeal, has requested Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy to intervene and ensure repatriation of her husband Kukkala Chinna Bheemaiah from Saudi Arabia at the earliest.

In an e-mailed letter sent to the Chief Minister, she wrote, “My husband had gone to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, as a migrant worker two years ago. He has become an ‘irregular emigrant’ after his visa expired and he has been stranded in Dammam since then.”

She said, “Our ailing son, Sunil, needs a bone marrow transplant and my husband is willing to donate bone marrow. I request you to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi and the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to repatriate my husband at the earliest to facilitate bone marrow donation and sale of our house in Jagtial, which is in the name of my husband, to meet the expenses of our ailing son’s treatment.”
