A 21-year-old college student who was abducted from Bengaluru by a four-member gang was rescued at the Periya Kallipatti check post near Bhavanisagar early on Saturday.

M. Isravel, a resident of Kempanna Layout in Hebbal, is a second-year law student at a college in Bengaluru. On Friday evening, while walking near Bande Maramma Temple in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, he was approached by four individuals in a car. They claimed they were interested in renting his house and persuaded him to enter the vehicle. Once inside, they threatened him and drove to various locations before entering the district through the check post.

At around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, the car was intercepted at the check post. While the police were inspecting the car, Isravel shouted for help. The gang attempted to mislead the officers by claiming he was mentally unstable and tried to drive away. However, suspecting foul play, a policeman quickly pulled Isravel out of the car before it sped off.

Isravel was taken to the Bhavanisagar police station, where he revealed that the kidnappers spoke Malayalam and had planned to demand ₹2 crore from his father, Muthu, a businessman.

The police informed his parents, and an investigation was underway to determine the motive behind the abduction. They also discovered that the car’s registration number was fake. A missing person case had been registered in Bengaluru.
