Collector sets 100-day deadline for completion of 35 model schools in Kuppam

District Collector Sumit Kumar has set a 100‑day deadline for the completion of construction of 35 model schools sanctioned for Kuppam Assembly constituency.

Addressing the media after chairing a review meeting with the officials of the Samagra Siksha Abhiyan and the education department, the Collector said that the State government earmarked ₹10.36 crore for the project, under which each school would be upgraded with five additional classrooms and teachers.

The construction works were allocated to the engineering wings of the Andhra Pradesh Education and Welfare Infrastructure Development and Panchayat Raj in Kuppam, Shanthipuram, Gudupalle, and Ramakuppam mandals., he added.

The Collector instructed that the engineers should use only quality material and the field officials should submit the progress reports and expenditure details every week. He said that after every 25% of the work completed, the process should be documented online and the bills should be uploaded immediately for prompt payments.

Mr. Sumit Kumar asked the mandal education officers to regularly conduct inspections at the worksites and call for tenders to procure the required material from time to time.
