Coimbatore-based Goat Robotics raises ₹2.66 crore for expansion and research

Coimbatore-headquartered Goat Robotics has raised ₹2.66 crore in its latest funding round, which saw a significant investment from Campus Angels Network (₹1.09 crore), alongside contributions from Native Lead Angels (₹59.5 lakh), Pontaq Ventures (₹24.98 lakh), TiE Coimbatore (₹49.85 lakh), and other investors (₹22.95 lakh).

Goat Robotics was incubated at Forge Ventures and supported by PSG-Science & Technology Entrepreneurial Park (PSG STEP).

“We manufacture robots that are used for heavy material movement. Our robots are used in diverse sectors, including automobile (car manufactures), furniture manufacturers, customised pump manufactures, and in FMCG. Each of these robots weigh around 660 kg and can carry up to 2,000 kg,” Mugesh S., co-founder and chief operating officer, told The Hindu over phone.

Muthukumar Thiyagarajan, chief executive officer of Goat Robotics, said: “This funding is a major milestone in our journey to redefine automation with intelligent robotics.”

Mr. Mugesh said: “We are looking at market expansion through a rental model. This will reduce entry barriers for customers and accelerates robot deployment at scale, especially in cost-sensitive markets.”

With this funding, the startup also plans to come up with a GT-Studio ecosystem, a orchestration layer that connects with existing factory machines (PLC/CNC/ERP systems), enabling real-time decision-making and seamless human-machine-robot collaboration.

“We will be investing in R&D and production for upgraded GT-series robots with enhanced payload, intelligence, and modularity,” Mr. Mugesh said.
