Class XII students from the Adi Dravida and tribal communities were oriented on higher educational options in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts, under the aegis of En Kalloori Kanavu on Sunday.

Students were provided with essential knowledge to make informed career decisions by Coimbatore Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar during an event organized by the Adi Dravida Welfare Department at PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore.

The Collector joined other speakers in exposing students to various career avenues, enabling them to gain insights into the job market, and encouraging them to make use of the opportunities.

In Tiruppur, District Collector T. Christuraj observed that schemes like Pudhumai Penn and Tamil Pudhalvan schemes, under which female students who had completed their schooling from levels VI to XII in government schools were entitled to ₹1,000 per month for their higher education, has reflected in enhanced enrolment rates in colleges and polytechnics.

Tiruppur district emerged first in the State in terms of overall pass percentage with an attainment of 97.45 percent. About 97 percent of the students who had cleared Class XII exams last year had enrolled in higher educational institutions. This year, the district is aiming at 100 percent enrolment, the Collector said.
