The State government has transferred Chetan Singh Rathore, IPS officer of the 2007 batch, as Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Northern Range.

Dr. Rathore has a doctorate in Horticulture Sciences.

He hails from Madhya Pradesh. He has served as Director, Forensic Science Laboratory, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru.

He took charge in Belagavi on Wednesday from Vikas Kumar Vikas who has been posted as Additional Commissioner, Bengaluru.
