The CBI on Wednesday (March 26, 2025) conducted searches at the residence of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, officials said.
The Office of the former Chief Minister said in a post on X that Mr. Baghel was scheduled to leave for Delhi today for the meeting of the “Drafting Committee” constituted for the AICC meeting to be held in Ahmedabad on April 8 and April 9
“Even before that, CBI has reached the residences at Raipur and Bhilai,” the statement added.
The agency teams also swooped down at the residence of a senior police officer and a close associate of the former chief minister, officials said.
The agency is tight-lipped about the matter in which the searches are taking place.
Further details are awaited.
Recently, the Enforcement Directorate had conducted searches at Mr. Baghel’s residence in a connection with an alleged liquor scam case.
