The police are on the lookout for a polytechnic professor who reportedly sexually harassed a second-year student from the same college on Thursday.
The incident occurred on March 8, after which the 17-year-old girl informed her friend. Later that evening, while waiting for a bus, her friend confronted the professor about his actions. During the ensuing altercation, police officers on patrol intervened and questioned both individuals. The officers advised the girl to file a complaint with the police.
On Wednesday, the victim lodged a complaint with Superintendent of Police G. Jawahar, who directed the All Women Police Station to investigate and register a case. Following the inquiry, a case was filed under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. A search is under way to locate the professor.
