A house in Namakkal was broken into and 20 sovereigns of jewellery stolen on Monday.

Gomathi, 48, of Sriram Nagar at Muthukalipatti near Rasipuram, works as a cashier at Vennandur Handloom Society. On Monday evening, she returned from work and found her door open. Upon checking the house, she found 20 sovereigns of jewels stolen from the cupboard. Rasipuram Police were informed, and forensic experts were brought in to collect fingerprints. Police also inspected footage recorded by CCTV cameras. A case has been booked and a search is on for the culprits.
