A bottle filled with kerosene oil was hurled at a grocery shop at Ganga Nagar in Karur on Saturday night.

According to sources, M. Mohamed Ansari, 21, of Sankar Nagar asked for a cigarette from shop owner Subramani, 51. Since Ansari was inebriated, Mr. Subramani refused to give him cigarette. Upset over this, Ansari allegedly hurled a bottle filled with kerosene oil at the grocery shop. A few items were gutted.

On information, the Thanthonrimalai police arrested Ansari after a preliminary inquiry.
