Member of Parliament Kanimozhi Karunanidhi launched Tamil comic books on quality and safety at an event organised by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering in the city on Friday. Lauding the BIS testing facility, Ms. Kanimozhi, who is also the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, said consumers had the right to demand quality in products. She also launched the record-creating initiative of BIS wherein over 2,36,000 stamp impressions were painted on a space spread over 2,030 sq.ft. It featured BIS logo and ISI and hallmark stamps, said a press release. Sriperumbudur MLA and Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperunthagai and BIS Director-General Pramod Kumar Tiwari also participated.
