The State government has decided to select the beneficiaries under the four prestigious flagship schemes being launched on January 26 through gram sabhas.

The government has decided to launch Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, distribution of ration cards, and Indiramma Illu, the weaker section housing programme, on the Republic Day. The officials concerned have accordingly been directed to conduct gram sabhas in all villages from January 21 and display the lists of selected beneficiaries under the four schemes for their approval.

Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari gave the instructions during a teleconference with senior officials and District Collectors on Wednesday to review the steps being taken for the successful implementation of the prestigious schemes. She wanted the officials concerned to ensure that there’s no scope for any doubts on the selection of beneficiaries and they should take measures to see that only genuine beneficiaries are given the benefits.

She told the meeting that the government had sent details pertaining to lands covered under Rythu Bharosa to the Agriculture Department through Revenue officials. The officials should conduct field inspection to verify lands that are not under cultivation. The details of non-agricultural lands should be displayed in the gram sabhas seeking their approval for the same.

Under the Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, landless agriculture labourers who worked for at least 20 days under the employment guarantee scheme should be selected and the names of these families should get the approval of respective gram sabhas. The lists of beneficiaries selected for issuance of ration cards should likewise be displayed in the gram sabhas along with the beneficiaries selected for sanction of benefit under the Indiramma Illu scheme in accordance with the guidelines issued by the government. The gram sabhas should be conducted panchayat-wise in rural areas and ward-wise in urban areas.
