The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered 23 cases and enquiries during September, including 11 trap cases, two disproportionate assets cases, two criminal misconduct cases, six regular enquiries and two surprise checks.

A total of 22 public servants, along with one outsourcing employee, were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

The Bureau reported that ₹8.91 lakh was seized in trap cases, while disproportionate assets worth ₹14.05 crore were unearthed.

From January to September this year, the ACB registered 203 cases, including 119 trap cases, 13 disproportionate assets cases, 20 criminal misconduct cases, 25 regular enquiries, 23 surprise checks and three discreet enquiries. In total, 189 public servants, including 15 outsourcing employees, were trapped or arrested and sent to judicial custody.

Officials said the Bureau seized ₹42.03 crore in trap cases and unearthed disproportionate assets worth ₹58.36 crore during this period.

The ACB finalised 25 cases in September and submitted final reports to the government. Since the beginning of the year, 204 cases have been finalised and forwarded. Officials also reported a conviction in one trap case during the month.

Ch. Srinivas Raju, Tahsildar of Thirumalagiri mandal in Nalgonda district, was sentenced to one-year of rigorous imprisonment and fined ₹25,000 on September 16 for offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The Bureau urged people to report any demand for bribes through its toll-free number 1064 or via social media platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook and X, assuring that the identities of complainants would be kept confidential.
