The BJP on Sunday alleged that AAP is making fake calls to people and claiming that if BJP comes to power then the welfare schemes started by AAP will be stopped. AAP termed the claims as “baseless”. “They are misleading citizens with fake phone calls, claiming that existing schemes will be scrapped, despite PM Modi’s clear assurance that all welfare schemes will continue,” BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said at a press conference. Responding to the allegations, AAP said, ““It is Arvind Kejriwal who has given the people of Delhi free 24×7 electricity, quality education, and Mohalla Clinics. The BJP levels baseless allegations against the AAP and then runs away.”
BJP candidate from New Delhi, Parvesh Sahib Singh, alleged that Mr. Kejriwal has done nothing for the people of Delhi in 11 years and is using fear tactics because he is losing the election. He also accused AAP of buying votes in the New Delhi Assembly for Rs. 500 and showed a video of an alleged AAP worker distributing Rs. 500 notes inside calendars to slum residents.
Responding to the allegations the AAP said in a statement that the BJP lacks an agenda, a vision, and even a chief ministerial face in Delhi.
“It is Arvind Kejriwal who has given the people of Delhi free 24×7 electricity, quality education, and Mohalla Clinics. The BJP levels baseless allegations against the AAP and then runs away. All the agencies are under BJP but no investigation is conducted against various crimes committed by the BJP leaders,” the statement read.
