As many as 15 Bangladeshi nationals, who were staying at Perundurai without valid documents, were arrested by the police on Saturday.

Based on a tip-off, the Perundurai police raided houses at Panickampalayam, Vaikalmedu, Mettukadai and few other areas and questioned a few persons working in textile units, tailoring and involved in construction activities. Inquiries revealed that they were from Bangladesh and did not possess valid documents. All were taken to the police station. A case was registered under Section 3(2) (e) r/w 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and they were arrested. They were produced in the court and taken to Puzhal Central Prison in Chennai.
