In a freak accident, a 13-year-old boy was electrocuted and his friend sustained burns, the Red Hills police said. When S. Sam of Redhills and his friend L. Ganesh were playing football on a vacant lot on Friday evening, the ball got stuck in a transformer nearby. When they tried to retrieve it by hand, Sam was electrocuted and Ganesh suffered an electric shock. Ganesh has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. Sam’s body was sent to the Government Stanley Hospital for a post-mortem.
