The Avadi City Police have arrested 10 persons so far in connection with the murder of two siblings by a gang in Avadi and Pattabiram police station limits on Saturday.

The victims, Rettamalai Srinivasan, 27, and Stalin, 24, of Aayili Cheri, have criminal cases against them in the Pattabiram police station limits. On Saturday evening, they allegedly created a ruckus under the influence of alcohol, and picked a quarrel with three persons.

Passers-by intervened and pacified the three persons, after which they left the spot. However, they soon returned and attacked the siblings.

While Stalin died on the spot, Srinivasan started to run. The trio chased and stabbed him to death. Police personnel sent the bodies for post-mortem. On Sunday, five suspects were arrested. Subsequently, five more were nabbed.
