YSRCP official spokesperson R. Ramesh Kumar Reddy was arrested on late Sunday night on charges of alleged objectionable comments against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy. The YSRCP leader was apprehended from his residence at Lakkireddipalle in Annamayya district.

The police registered a case against Mr. Ramesh Reddy after videos of his remarks went viral on social media. Soon after Mr. Ramesh Reddy’s detention, a large number of party cadre from Rayachoti division assembled outside his residence, raising slogans against the Coalition government and demanding the release of their leader. Additional police force was deployed from Rayachoti to maintain law and order.
