Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Thursday said the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and the Public Works Department will dedicate projects worth over ₹3,000 crore during ‘Seva Pakhwada’. The 15-day social service campaign will commence on September 17 and is a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebrations.

Mr. Singh said the projects are aimed at transforming the city’s water supply, sewage treatment, drainage, and road infrastructure.

The DJB will roll out 13 major projects, including a comprehensive sewer network in Sonia Vihar and the upgradation of the sewage treatment plant (STP) in Okhla. The Okhla STP, one of the largest in the city, will enhance treatment efficiency and cleaning of the Yamuna, the Minister said.

“On the birthday of our respected Prime Minister, these transformative projects will be our government’s gift to the people of Delhi. From water pipelines to flyovers, every initiative reflects our vision of a Capital that is healthier, safer, and more efficient,” Mr. Singh said.

Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the government will unveil five newly constructed hospital blocks, 101 new Ayushman Mandirs and 150 dialysis centres in various parts of the city.
