GVMC chief directs officials to complete beautification works at the earliest

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg on Friday (October 03, 2025) directed officials to complete the beautification works in the city at the earliest in the view of the upcoming CII Partnership Summit.

Along with Chief Engineer P.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju and other officials, the GVMC Commissioner inspected various areas including RK Beach, Park Hotel area, and Siripuram.

During the visit, the Commissioner first reviewed several areas at RK Beach through a drone camera and gave specific instructions to the Chief Engineer regarding developmental works. He stated that since a large number of guests from across the country and abroad would be attending the Partnership Summit, Visakhapatnam should be given a more aesthetic look.

The Commissioner instructed the Chief Engineer to take up urgent works of repairing and painting of footpath curb walls, white marking and studs along road margins, repair of footpath tiles, painting of electric poles, repairing and painting of nearby public toilets, road repairs, beautification of bus stops, development of central medians, painting of grills, plantation of decorative greenery, electrical illumination, repair of street lights etc

He further instructed that until the completion of the Partnership Summit, GVMC officials and concerned departments must work in coordination to ensure timely completion of all development and beautification works. The Commissioner also directed the Chief Engineer to regularly hold coordination meetings with the respective departments and officials to monitor and ensure execution of the works.
