Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday said it was a double bonanza for city traders this festive season with a reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) and clearance of a part of the pending refund dues.
Ms. Gupta said her government disbursed ₹694 crore of the total ₹1,600 crore GST refund dues, which have been pending since 2019.
The Chief Minister said a record ₹227 crore was cleared in September alone, the highest monthly GST refund clearance so far.
“Delhi government is committed to ensuring that every trader, big or small, receives their GST refund within the stipulated time frame,” she said.
Ms. Gupta said that since the start of the 2025-26 financial year, her government has been “working systematically” to streamline the GST refund process for traders.
She added that the Delhi government’s Department of Trade & Taxes has resolved 7,375 tax refund applications so far.
