A major robbery occurred in Reddy Kancharapalem, Visakhapatnam on Monday. The robbers broke into a house, near the national highway, assaulted the residents including an elderly woman and fled with with 12 tolas of gold, ₹3 lakh in cash and a car. They tied the woman and her grandson before fleeing the scene.

The incident took place at around 1 am on Sunday, but came to light on Monday.

The city police reached the spot and examined the scene. The stolen car was traced to Marikavalasa. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed. A case has been registered.
