A biker died after branch of a tree fell on him during heavy rainfall at Elekallu on Chikkamagaluru-Balehonnur Road in Karnataka on June 16.
Anil Ruzario, 50, of Kadabagere in Khandya hobli, in N.R. Pura taluk was injured after a branch fell on him around 10.30 a.m.
Balehonnur police rushed to the spot and shifted him to the government hospital at Balehonnur. He succumbed to injuries at the hospital, said the police.

Siddamma, a native of Honnali taluk in Davangere district, was visiting her relative Hemavathi. While they were sleeping, a wall of the house fell on her. Hemavathi’s daughter Pallavi and daughter-in-law Parashuram were injured.

Wall of house collapses
A woman, aged about 100 years, died and two others suffered injuries after a wall in a house collapsed during heavy rains at Adugadi village near Kusmi in Shivamogga taluk on June 15 night.
Siddamma, a native of Honnali taluk in Davangere district, was visiting her relative Hemavathi. While they were sleeping, a wall of the house fell on her and two others. The house belongs to Hemavathi and Nagaraj. The couple’s daughter Pallavi and daughter-in-law Parashuram suffered injuries in the incident.
Kumsi police visited the spot.
Kumta-Sirsi road closed at night
Following landslips owing to incessant rainfall in Uttara Kannada district, the district administration has imposed a ban on vehicular movement on the Kumta-Sirsi Road from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day till further orders.
