A flight from Singapore which had to land at Chennai airport had to go-around due to crosswinds on Wednesday.
With nearly 180 passengers, the flight had to land at 10.30 a.m. But around 10.15 a.m., as the flight was making a descent, it came down to an altitude to as low as 200 feet, but due to crosswinds, the landing was aborted, the pilot performed a go-around and the flight subsequently landed at 10.40 a.m., sources said.
“It is not an unusual occurrence. For numerous reasons, the pilot may choose to execute a go-around and land for the second time following all the standard protocols. They do it because it is safe,” a source said.
