Applications with proposals have been invited from voluntary organisations to establish a rehabilitation home for the homeless and alms-seekers, under the Begging Prohibition Act, 1945, with government financial assistance, Chennai District Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade announced on Monday.

The rehabilitation home aims to provide shelter and support for individuals transitioning from alms-seeking, a press release said.

Organisations must submit proposals to the District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit, No. 13, Sami Pillai Street, Choolai, Chennai – 600 112.

The submission deadline is 5:45 PM on 30 January 2025. Further details regarding the proposals can be obtained by contacting the same address, the release added.
